Where it all began

I burst out into the world many years ago...wait, not that far back?

I have always loved to draw…It was and still is my favourite thing to do.

A few years ago I really began to focus on designing, illustrating, and getting into all of the arts.

I self-taught myself everything I know, and really wanted to have a clothing line called "Party Animal Wear". The idea was drawn from my pets, especially my two dogs.

I have always loved old cartoons, such as Bugs Bunny, and found my dogs often displayed many similar characteristics to them. They acted like humans, which made me want to draw them. So they were the initial inspiration for me, and that’s where I got the name ‘Party Animal’ from. They’re crazy and animals! The initials of Party Animal Wear spells PAW, which was perfect. It represents my inspiration and they are why the logo is blue and pink dog paws.

I wanted to make clothing that allows you to express yourself, and be unique in your own fun way.

After some time, I had come up with multiple things such as a cartoon about two alien brothers, heaps of clothing designs, and more.

Everyday I just drew, and made designs.

One day I designed a pair of shoes. I used sharpie pens on some white canvas lace ups shoes. It had all my characters on it, that would soon become my signature design "ToonSplat". I showed my family and they loved them.

I decided to create a Facebook page called DK’s Art and put them on there. I advertised them and that I could also do custom shoes. From there I began getting a few orders. I did not know where I could direct people to go for the ordering, so I just said to contact me via my Facebook page. I did not think my page would grow, and I mainly just put sketches of cartoons on there for my friends and family to see.

Multiple pairs of shoes later, my page and art was getting noticed. I started to do Pop Pet Portraits for people, clothing and blankets. All sales were through Facebook from all over Australia and the occasional market I would attend.

Since then, I have now finally produced my clothing line Party Animal Wear.
